In the city center of Ajdovščina, where the tradition of milling and baking is connected with art, stands the Rust House of Bread. Once home to one of the most famous Ajdov bakeries, it still spreads the magical scent of freshly baked bread through the neighboring streets today, but it also combines the centuries-old tradition of Ajdov millers and bakers, an adventure center, an excellent culinary offer, and social events.

The influence of watercourses on life in the Vipava Valley

Over the centuries, the life of people in the Vipava Valley has been strongly marked by the presence of the Vipava and Hubelj rivers and numerous smaller watercourses, a favorable climate and fertile soil, which created the conditions for the development of milling and baking traditions.

Experiential experience

The connection of both bakeries, today with new content, offers an experiential experience as a combination of interactive displays, relaxed and practical learning in "live" workshops, and at the same time, experiencing local bakery and pastry delicacies.
